What are the advantages of using a custom home builder?

As a custom home builder, we can design and prepare plans based on your requirements, budget and site, making your home truly tailor-made for you.

When you choose Mpire Homes as your builder, we work collaboratively with you to design and select the fixtures and finishes you want, giving you maximum flexibility. In comparison, volume builders provide a range of standard designs from a database. These designs are generally not site specific, so they don’t allow for layout flexibility, and your choice of fixtures and fittings is usually limited.

Are custom home builders more expensive?

Building a custom home with Mpire Homes is very affordable. Because we’re a small family-owned company, our overheads are very low – and this is reflected in our competitive pricing. We aim to meet your budget and look to minimise the cost of your build wherever possible. Our fixed-price contracts mean you won’t get hit with unexpected costs during the build process, and we don’t charge for any variations you request.

I have a difficult block of land; can you build on it?

Absolutely! As difficult site specialists, we’re experts at turning the challenges that tricky build sites can present into a real opportunity. Our passion is uncovering the potential in build sites that are steep, irregularly shaped or with access challenges. With retaining and a great design, we can create your dream home on a piece of land you previously would not have thought feasible to build on.

As a complete home builder, Mpire Homes offers clients the option to add a pool, outdoor entertaining area or granny flat to your new home build. By including these aspects in the initial scope of works, we can ensure a cohesive design and manage materials, equipment and trades efficiently throughout your project, saving you time and money.

I’m not fond of surprises – are there any hidden charges?

With Mpire Homes there are no hidden charges or surprises – we aim to meet the budget you have in mind. Our quotes include all costs that you’ll incur when building your new custom home. Everything is detailed so there are no extra costs that you’re not aware of.

Where do you build?

We build in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales and are licenced in both states. We’ve worked with clients from Brisbane to Byron Bay to deliver luxurious modern family homes.

What information do you need to provide a quote?

To prepare a quote, we’ll need a clear idea of the size of your block in square metres, the house design and style you envision. It’s helpful if you have plans drawn up, however this is not necessary.


We can then make a time to meet with you at your block for a detailed discussion about your vision for your new custom home, your budget and desired completion date. If your build site is challenging, we’ll talk about what’s possible and any limitations your block of land presents.

Will I be kept up to date during the build, and who do I deal with?

When you work with us, you’ll deal directly with owner Marius Botha throughout the building process. We’re committed to proactive, personal service and will be there every step of the way for you – from your initial meeting to handover and beyond. Regular site meetings are scheduled to discuss project progress, upcoming works and selections.
